Yes. We're licensed, insured, and bonded for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal work. Our arborists are ISA Certified and hold Louisiana Arborist and Landscape Horticultural Landscaper licenses, and we're TCIA members.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. Every job starts with a free on-site assessment and a written quote before any work begins — no surprise charges.

How much does tree removal or trimming cost?

It depends on the tree's size, condition, location, and accessibility — a small backyard tree and a large live oak leaning over a roofline are very different jobs. We don't quote prices sight-unseen; a free on-site assessment gets you an accurate number, not a guess.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in New Orleans?

Only if the tree in in the property between the sidewalk and the street does the City of New Orleans require a permit to remove any tree The process involves a city arborist site visit, and the city may require a replacement tree. Other municipalities vary their permitting slightly.

What's the difference between tree trimming and tree removal?

Trimming (pruning) removes dead, diseased, or structurally weak branches while keeping the tree healthy and intact — it's routine maintenance. Removal takes the whole tree down and is reserved for trees that are dead, hazardous, severely diseased, or in the way of construction.

Do you provide stump grinding?

Yes, as an add-on to tree removal. Ask about bundling it into the same visit when you get your quote — see our Tree Removal page for details.

Do you cable, brace, or lightning protect valuable trees?

Yes — these aren't always front and center on our site, but they're services we regularly perform, especially for large or historically significant live oaks that are worth extra investment to preserve. Ask about it when you request your quote.

Do you offer emergency or storm tree service?

Yes, we respond to storm damage and hazardous tree emergencies. If a tree has fallen on a structure or is blocking access to your property, call (504) 323-5533 — see our Emergency Tree Service page for more.

Call or text (504) 323-5533, email stosh@audubontreecare.com, or fill out the request form on our homepage or any service page. We'll get back to you to schedule your free on-site assessment.

Are you experienced working with live oaks and historic trees?

Yes. Live oaks are central to what we do in New Orleans — we bring the same care to a century-old oak in an Uptown yard as we do to a young tree that needs its first structural pruning. We also offer cabling and bracing to support large or structurally compromised trees rather than defaulting to removal.
